Grading Update 5: Problem 1 graded, Problem 2 partially graded. Interestingly no one solved the last part of Problem 1 correctly, but some got Problem 2 correct, which also dealt with indexing an array. Hopefully, there will be no more interruptions and so grading can now proceed swiftly. It's possible final exam grades will be available tomorrow and course grades by Sunday. The next grading update will be posted about 18:00 tomorrow.

Updated MIPS Implementations page. This page briefly describes the MIPS functional simulator and Very Simple Implementation that we covered in class, and also describes more advanced implementations. This semester we covered up to and including the Very Simple implementation (which was not covered before).

There is a bug (my bug) in the homework that prevents the no-whitespace-before table from being initialized. The problem has been corrected in /home/faculty/koppel/pub/ee3755/hw/2013f/hw05/hw05.s To fix your copy find the line addi $t1, $a1, 256 and change the 256 to a 255.

Xspim, the MIPS would not run on some workstations, such as helena. That problem has been fixed. If there are any problems please let me know. Also, those copying the homework before about 15:12 will need to make the file read/write. That can be done by executing "chmod 644 hw05.s" in a shell in the directory in which the file is located.

Updated additional machines to run the synthesis program. This should include all machines in the lab, but if you have a problem please E-mail me promptly so I can fix it. Also, note that the lab is closed on Sunday. I understand that this will force many to rush the computer part, but it's important that everyone study for the exam.

Synthesis had not been working on several machines, perhaps failing with the error message "rc: Command not found.". I've fixed a problem with some of the machines, in particular, rain, titan, agent, venus, and helena, which would have fixed that problem. Please report any further problems, and when you do please indicate which machine you were on.
