Grading Update 8: Course Grades Ready The wait is finally over. Prepare yourself, maybe make sure that nobody is looking, and click here. (You may need to refresh after clicking that link due to a Web server bug.) When you're done don't forget to call your mom, and have a good summer!

9 May 2015, 18:02:19 CDT
Grading Update 7: The good news: no one will fail the course. The bad news: I won't be posting grades until tomorrow. Check back at about noon.

8 May 2015, 17:58:09 CDT
Grading Update 6: Homework and course average grades might be available tomorrow. Course grades might be available tomorrow too. If not, take solace in the fact that the more time I think about grade cutoffs, the more lenient I get.

8 May 2015, 14:48:14 CDT
Grading Update 5: Final Exam Grades Ready The range was [89,18] with a median of 57, a six-point improvement over the midterm. Of course, the most important grade is yours. To find it, click here. Even if you don't care about your grade, check out the clever aliases. A final average including all the homework may be posted over the weekend. The next grading update will be posted by about 18:00 tonight.

7 May 2015, 18:05:37 CDT
Grading Update 4: Problems 1 and 2 graded, Problem 3 mostly graded. Exam grades will probably be available tomorrow afternoon.

6 May 2015, 17:59:55 CDT
Grading Update 3: Problem 1 graded. Exam grades should be available late afternoon tomorrow.

5 May 2015, 17:41:01 CDT
Grading Update 2: Still no grading yet, but grading should start tomorrow before noon. Exam grades might be available Wednesday night. For course grades one might have to wait until the weekend or later.

4 May 2015, 17:59:13 CDT
Grading Update 1: No grading yet. I did look over some exams and was pleased that many had the right idea for Problem 1. However none of the solutions I looked at so far used a mux at the input to the register file so that the slot 0 rs register number would be used for the slot 1 register number. Instead most added a connection to one of the FA-ALU muxen to deliver rsv0. Obviously, a 2-input, 5-bit mux is cheaper than another input to an existing 32-bit mux. The next grading update will be posted by 18:00 tomorrow.

4 May 2015, 12:13:51 CDT

12 March 2015, 18:18:10 CDT
Homework 3 will be returned in class on Friday ungraded and re-collected on Monday. The original assignment had a typo in Problem 2. Many students read the problem description carefully enough so that in part (a) they read what I meant to write (resolve in EX), not what I actually wrote (resolve in ID). It would be difficult to assign a meaningful grade if both interpretations were assumed. Please resubmit the assignment on Monday, 16 March. The posted assignment has been corrected.
