Grading Update 3: Problems 1-4 graded. I'm impressed that some provided exactly correct answers for the B2 accuracy in the branch predictor problem. Anyway, grading will resume tomorrow afternoon and final exam grades will be posted tomorrow. The next grading update will be posted by 15:00 tomorrow.

Completed the 2018 Final Exam solution, with solutions to the branch preditor problem (Homework 9) and the cache problem.

Posted an updated midterm exam solution that includes the solution to the enhanced problems assigned for Homework 5. Linked a Homework 8 solution. Problem 1b in Homework 8 is slightly different than the 2018 final exam problem on which it was based, and so the solution is different. (The only difference is that in the exam fetch groups were aligned, whereas in the homework they are not.

Linked the Midterm Exam Review slides and the 2016 midterm to the lectures page. In class today when trying to answer 2016 Midterm Exam Problem 2, I actually started giving the answer to 2015 Midterm Exam Problem 1, in which branches resolve in EX rather than ID.

When working on the Homework 1 solution, be aware that some output of your MIPS routine might have scrolled off the top of the SPIM console. To see the scrolled-off material focus the SPIM console window and press the PageUp and PageDown keys.

Updated the procedures page, and included instructions for practice problems. The practice problems include the string length and integer-to-hex examples done in class, and a histogram problem.
