For convenience, added code for Final Exam Problem 2 to the repo. The problem can be solved entirely by hand, but the code is available if that helps. The code can be found in directory hw/gpup/2019/fe/, the Problem 2 code is in file fe-shdr.cc. Also, the Problem 2 screenshot has been updated. Some may have noticed that the text on the sides was reversed. That has been fixed.

Corrected a symobl starting at about the fourth paragraph in Homework 1 Problem 1. Friction should be based on the force on the ring, fr, not on the tangential force ft. The Homework 1 posted assignment has this correction.

The complete Homework 1 assignment is now available. The due date has been pushed ahead one day to Thursday. The assignment now includes a more detailed description of the assignment code and on how to solve the problems. The assignment code itself has been updated, so those who may have already cloned the repo need to pull. (See the material at procedures in section 'Obtaining the Assignment' for information on the git repo and related terms such as clone and pull.

A preliminary version of Homework 1 has been assigned. The description of the problems is vague, more will be added later. The assignment is due Wednesday, 11 September Thursday, 12 September 2019.
