Work Experience:


After spending 4 years in the ministry, Mr. Scalzo began teaching at LSU in 1999. Since 2003 he has been the undergraduate adviser for the division of electrical and computer engineering. Mr. Scalzo has taught 14 different electrical and computer engineering courses. Most recently he completed the development of a new course in applied electromagnetics, RF Systems. This course is based on his work experience at SAWTEK as an RF components design engineer.

SAWTEK (Qorvo, Inc)

RF design engineer and project manager for the development of specialized surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters, resonators and sensors for various communications and sensing applications. Trained in statistically based experimental design techniques for design optimization. These experimental design techniques were used to develop optimal fabrication and processing of SAW devices. John and his wife left their jobs in 1994 to become missionaries.

Norfolk Southern Corporation, Roanoke, VA    Worked as a co-op in the Communications/Signals Department for 4 semesters.
