Grading Update 4b: Course Grades Ready I decided to decide on the course grades sooner rather than later. At the risk of spoiling the suspense: no one who took the final exam failed the course. For those who did better on the final than the midterm, the course average uses the final exam grade for the midterm grade. Enough talk, now it's time to click here. (And refresh if necessary.) |

Grading Update 3a: Problems 1-4 graded, Problem 5 half graded. The final exam grading should be complete within an hour. The next grading update will be posted then, in about one hour. On a related note, a faculty member's approval was obtained for one of the aliases. |

Grading Update 2: Problems 1-3 graded. I won't comment on the exam until it's completely graded, but I will say that the aliases look really good this year. The next grading update will be posted today at about 17:00. |

Grading Update 1: Grading of the final exam started late, and so final exam grades won't be available until Thursday. The next grading update will be posted by 12:00 tomorrow. |

Grading Update 0: Grading of the final exam will start late this afternoon or on Wednesday and should be complete by Wednesday late afternoon. The remaining homeworks will be graded after that, with grades hopefully available on Thursday. Course grades may not be available until Friday (which is a good thing since the longer I think about letter grade cutoffs, the lower they get [meaning the grades themselves are higher]). Depending on the quality of submissions, there may also be a best alias contest. |

Grading Update 3: Midterm Exam Grades Ready The exam was hard, and the average was lower than last semester, but by fewer than ten points. The range is [87,14], and the median is 42.5, so even grades in the high to mid 30s aren't so bad. Two students provided nearly identical aliases, one was all upper case, the other was mixed case. Hopefully they remember. Those who are ready to see their grades click here. |
