Alexander Skavantzos was born in Athens, Greece. He received the diploma degree in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1980, the M.S.E.E. degree from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH, in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1987.
Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. His research interests include fast computer arithmetic, high-speed architectures for digital signal processing, and VLSI signal processing.
