EE 7730 - Image Analysis I

Term Project:
    The project involves understanding, implementation, and presentation of image processing techniques. The projects can be done in teams of two (or individually). At the end of the semester, each team will turn in a final report and make a presentation. The projects topics can be chosen from image processing textbooks or articles.
Below is a list of possible project topics.
 
Possible Project Topics:
    Demosaicking [Ref 1]
    Watermarking [Ref 1, Ref 2, Ref 3]
    Restoration [Ref 1, Ref 2]
    Segmentation [Ref 1, Ref 2, Ref 3]
    Mosaic Construction [Ref 1, Ref 2, Ref 3]
    Face Detection [Ref 1]
    Image Compression
    Image Enhancement
 
Project Proposal:
   The project proposal should include an overview of the project you propose, the approach you will take, a timeline, and significant references.     
 
Schedule:
    October 6                     Submission of project proposal (1-2 pages)   
    December 1                 Submit the following:
                                            * Hardcopy of your project report.
                                            * CD or floppy disk including:
                                                1) Source code of the algorithms implemented
                                                2) Powerpoint presentation slides
                                                3) PDF or Word file of your report                                  
 
    December 1                 Agarwal, Banerjee

    December 5                 Thunuguntla, Velamuri, Wang
 
Presentation:
     Prepare a 15 minute talk including the goal of your project, background information, methods tested, results, and conclusions.
 
Project Report:
    Prepare a project report.
        * Include an abstract that is concise and informative about the problem addressed, the methods tested, and the results.
        * Provide insightful  motivation and background information. 
        * Provide precise description of the method(s) you have implemented.
        * Analyze and discuss the experimental results.
