ECE Undergraduate Scholarships (2013)
The Division of Electrical & Computer Engineering is pleased
to offer the following undergraduate scholarships (and also graduate scholarships) through the
generosity of alumni, corporations and friends of the
Division. Qualifications, funding amounts and numbers of awards vary
by scholarship and are listed below. To apply, please submit a
completed
application
to Stacie Oliver's mailbox located in the ECE main
office, 3101 Patrick F. Taylor Hall, by the close of
business Friday, October 4, 2013.
Please include all information relevant to the scholarship(s) for which you are applying. You only need to fill out one application for ALL of the scholarships. Just mark each scholarship on the application.
Les and Dot Broussard Scholarship
- Award: ONE student will be awarded $1000 for the Academic Year, and ONE student will will be awarded $500 in the Fall Semester 2013
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time undergraduate in the
College of Engineering majoring in electrical or computer
engineering.
Alden J. and Barbara S. Chauvin Scholarship
- Award: ONE student will be awarded $1000 for the Academic Year and ONE student will will be awarded $500 in the Fall Semester 2013
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time undergraduate pursuing a
degree in electrical engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for
college work completed and an interest in alternative energy
solutions. Financial need shall be a consideration. Student must have
been born in Louisiana or at least have one parent born in
Louisiana.
Chevron-Texaco Scholarship
- Award: FOUR students will be awarded $2000
each
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time
undergraduate pursuing a degree in electrical engineering with a GPA
of 3.0 or higher for college work completed. Preference shall be given
to an upperclassman. Students whose enrollment and leadership promote
diversity within the department should also be considered.
William H. and Tonya B. Ditto Memorial to Michel B. Voorhies,
Marion B. Reed and Ambrose K. Ramsey Engineering Scholarship
- Award: FOUR students will be awarded $1000
each
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time undergraduate pursuing a
degree in electrical engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for
college work completed. Student must be a citizen and resident of the
United States. Financial need shall be considered.
Robert G. Flory Scholarship
- Award: TWO students will be awarded $1500
each for the academic year and
and ONE student will will be awarded $750 in the Fall Semester 2013
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time sophomore, junior or
senior pursuing a degree in electrical engineering with a GPA of 3.0
or higher for college work completed. Student must be American born
and a resident of Louisiana from Acadia, Lafayette, or Vermillion
Parish.
Clint Ourso and Jennifer Romine Scholarship
- Award: ONE student will be awarded $900
- Qualifications: Student must be a full-time undergraduate
student enrolled as junior or senior in the College of Engineering
majoring in electrical or computer engineering. The recipient must
have an overall grade point average of at least 3.4 and no higher than
3.7 and show an interest in courses related to Digital Media. This
scholarship shall be the only scholarship the recipient receives other
than a TOPS scholarship.
