ECE Professor Suresh Rai (left side of photo) was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree by the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India on 9 April 2013 for his contributions and attainments. The award was presented by the president of India Pranab Mukherjee (center). The Institute is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year, Dr. Rai and two other alumni were honored for the occasion. Dr. Rai was a lecturer at the Institute from 1974 until 1980, at which time he was awarded a Ph.D. from the Institute/University.
Dr. Rai is a full professor in the Division of Electrical and Computer Engineering at LSU, where he specializes in Internet topics, logic testing, and reliability.
