Choi Named Dr. Fred H. Fenn Memorial Professor

Dr. Jin-Woo Choi, Assistant Professor for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named the Dr. Fred. H. Fenn Memorial Professor for the 2008-09 year. Choi will be awarded a $5000 stipend to use for the activities related to his research in BioMEMS & Bioelectronics. This professorship is part of the College Initiative Professorship Program which is awarded by the Dean of the College of Engineering to assistant, associate or full professors, nominated by each department. The Professorship is awarded for one year, but is renewable.

The Fred H. Fenn Professorship was established in 2001 by Richard Fenton Jr, who received both his bachelor's degree in 1936 and master's in 1939 from the University in electrical engineering. Dr. Fenn served as Dean of the College of Engineering from 1957 to 1961.
