The Stellantis track uses the 2026 Jeep Cherokee hybrid context to frame propulsion integration, high-voltage battery work, controls, validation, off-road design considerations, and product value.

Managed by Argonne National Laboratory within the DOE Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions ecosystem, EcoCAR connects universities with OEMs, software sponsors, mentors, national events, and real technical expectations.

Competition Overview

EcoCAR is a four-year national vehicle and product innovation competition.

EcoCAR challenges university teams to develop intelligent mobility solutions using real vehicles, sponsor tools, judged technical deliverables, and product innovation methods. Teams compete in OEM vehicle tracks while every team also competes in the Product Innovation Track.
