Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or similar discipline; three years experience in a distributed computing environment; communication and system design experience; experience with recent Windows desktop and server products, and UNIX operating systems, and hardware; knowledge of TCP/IP based networking; proficient hardware troubleshooting ability; good communication skills; installs, tests, maintains, and interfaces computer and networking hardware/software; maintains audio/visual equipment; provides technical assistance to faculty and staff; specifies, selects, and acquires computer and networking equipment; administers computer network; provides training and supervises graduate students/student workers; interacts with department chair concerning computer policies, plans, budget, bids, purchase orders, and conflict resolution; performs long and short term planning of computer facilities and equipment; establishes departmental computer policies regarding access and usage of departmental computing facilities; serves as the primary contact for security; serves as alternate Building Coordinator.
