Ahmed El-Amawy obtained his Ph.D in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University in 1983. His current research interest include
parallel processing, computer architecture, clock distribution in very large systems, fault tolerant computing and theoretical aspects of interconnection networks. He invented the first clock distribution scheme for large systems that
guarantees constant skew upper bound irrespective of network size. He owns
two US patents and was listed in Who's Who of American Inventors. Dr. El-Amawy
has servrd on several program committees of national and International
conferences. He served as the program Co_chair for the 1997 International
conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing Systems. He is also serving
as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Computing and Information. He is currently
a professor of Computer Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at Louisiana State University. He was recently awarded a Chevron
Professorship by LSU. Dr. El-Amawy is a senior member of the IEEE, the IEEE
Computer Society and is a member of the honor society of Phi kappa Phi.
