In particular, if you are thinking about where to study, we firmly believe that you would be making the right choice if you decided to study with us at LSU. The fine accomplishments of our former students have helped to contribute to the high reputation of our Department and, in turn, we confidently predict that our current students will also achieve great things.
Our mission is to educate students of Electrical and Computer Engineering so that upon graduation they will have the requisite background knowledge and understanding to be able to pursue a productive career in Electrical or Computer Engineering. For some, this means highly rewarding employment in one of the exciting small companies in this area or in one of the large, well-established, market leaders who return to LSU each year to recruit our students. For others, it means undertaking advanced study at LSU or elsewhere; we aim to provide MS graduates with technical depth in one or more areas of specialization so that they can compete successfully in the marketplace, and to provide Ph.D. graduates with the tools and knowledge they need to conduct original and significant research in their chosen area of scholarship. To help us, we have state-of-the-art experimental facilities, and we are nationally recognized for our successful programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
