Biographical Sketch

Xue-Bin Liang received the B.S. degree in mathematics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 1988, the M.S. degree in applied mathematics and Ph.D. degree in computer science from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 1991 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Delaware, Newark, DE, in 2002. From 1991 to 1999, he held teaching, research, or visiting positions in some institutes including the Department of Mathematics at Anhui University, Hefei, China; the Department of Computer Science at Fudan University, Shanghai, China; the Department of Information Science at Utsunomiya University, Utsunomiya, Japan; the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China; the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Engineering Management at The City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China; and the Department of Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ.

In August 2002, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. His current research is focusing on some theoretical and technical topics in Information Theory, Coding Theory, and Wireless Communications.
