SUMMARY
During the academic year 1997-98 graduate students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department were co-owners in one patent, co-authors in two chapters in books, 12 refereed journal publications and over 20 conference presentations. They have also been finalist in student design competitions, awarded NSF travel grants and invited to give seminars to other institutions.

Other Honors and Recognitions to ECE Graduate Students

Xinjia Chen won the NSF travel grant to 1997 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, San Diego, December 1997.

Merten Jung and Daniel Campos-Delgado reached the finals of the 1998 American Control Conference Design Competition. The winner was selected by a draw from among the finalists.

Vidya Venkatachalam was invited to give a seminar at the Laboratory of Computational Methematics, Rice University, Houston.
