CALL FOR PAPERS

ICPP Workshop on

PERFORMANCE AND PARALLELISM IN EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

(Held in conjunction with ICPP 2000, August 21-24)
The Westin Harbor Castle
Toronto, Canada

SCOPE

Embedded systems are among the important manifestations of ubiquitous computing which leads to their use in a wide variety of applications. The real-time response characteristic is one of the important performance demands on these systems. Achieving the same through judicious use of parallelism is one of the solutions. This workshop provides a forum to discuss what are the new issues in exploiting parallelism on these systems. In particular, the field of parallel computing is quite mature and we invite position papers which contrast new problems encountered in this field that may not be directly addressed in existing parallel computing literature. We also welcome position papers which point to incrementing existing techniques in parallel computing towards these systems.

Papers focused on all levels of parallelism from specification, higher level program transformations to lower level code generation/run time techniques are welcome. Topics of interest include (but not limited to):

The workshop will also include invited talks and a panel on the above general theme. The exact topics will be announced later.
