Guoxiang Gu received the BS degree from Donghua University in 1981, the MS and Ph.D. degrees from University of Minnesota in 1985 and 1988, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 1988 to 1990, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, as a Visiting Assistant Professor. Since 1990, he joined Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where he is currently a Professor of electrical and computer engineering. He has published over 60 archive journal papers, one book, and numerous book chapters and more than 70 conference papers in the general areas of control, and signal processing. He has held visiting positions at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He served as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control from 1999 to 2001, and for SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization from 2006-2009. He is presently an Associate Editor for Automatica.
