Inkjet-Printed Sensors

Inkjet-Printed Sensors

Inkjet printing provides a superior patterning ability, and it does not require the use of pre-deposition templates or post-deposition processes. Additionally, inkjet printers typically use several ink cartridges, allowing multiple different materials to be deposited simultaneously. In our group, we print various nanomaterials including carbon nanotubes, metallic nanoparticles, and polyaniline nanowires to develop low cost chemical and biological sensors on polymer and paper substrates. Ink solutions for each nanomaterial have been developed accordingly. Using simple inkjet printing, we have demonstrated printed sensors for hydrogen peroxide, dopamine, glucose, etc.
