ECE Students and Astronaut Excite Girls about Engineering20 September 2011ECE faculty member John Scalzo along with IEEE student and industry members and a former astronaut helped over 500 girls in grades five through eight survey the world of engineering through talks, a workshop, and a street fair, all part of the Sally Ride Science Festival held in LSU's Patrick F. Taylor Hall and sponsored by Exxon Mobil Corp. Full Story ECE Grad Receives Prestigious Fellowship 14 June 2011Recent ECE Graduate Precious Cantu, along with three other LSU students, were awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowships. Ms. Cantu, who also received a McNair Scholarship, worked under the direction of ECE Professor Marty Feldman. Full Story Retired EE professor Eugene Tims Passes Away 2 February 2012It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Eugene Tims, a retired professor emeritus of electrical engineering; he passed away on February 2, 2012 at the age of 90. From his tenure as an EE faculty member, through his many years of service as an ECE Advisory Board member, he never lost the desire to teach others and to expand his knowledge of the world. The Department benefited from Dr. Tims' contributions across the years and he will be missed. |
